Overview

Aside my full time as UI and UX Designer at Prima Vista Solusi, I also work as a Product Designer Freelance at Epployee (Smart HR System). The main goal is to re-design the existing app to a brand-new UI yet improving the UX.

Background Story

In early 2023, I was responsible for being the product designer of the Epployee application for the latest version (v3). I do the work with my co-worker and we both start with user research; why we need to redesign and upgrade the app to new version in the first place. First, we determine which users we will research; the selection is based on how influential the user is as a client. Then, we grouped them and we created the user personas for the two user groups.

Then, after we create the persona, we conduct the research by live survey and interview. We use System Usability Scale (SUS) as scoring metrics for as (last version) and is (new version) comparison. For survey needs, we create SUS questionnaire and interview questions. Below you can see the details of the research documents.

As you can see, our calibrated SUS score still under 60. Also based our interview, we gather 2 main reasons of their pain point.

1. 1. Too complex and hard to learn for new user
2. 2. Need time to learn to use, because they're not familiar with the experience

Design Time!

Therefore, we are committed to redesign the Epployee Mobile App to new version; specifically with better user experience. I really want to build and design an app that's not only beautifully designed, but also great in user experience and minimalism. So, this is the result of my thoughts. In this project, I responsible to design 9+ core function and 40+ pages; including dashboard and multi-theme.

Some of the feature are still under development and discussion directly with our CEO. So maybe, some of functionality in Figma Prototype still off. But on June 2023, we launch our first phase of v3 (v3.1). Based on simple discussion with user, we got the most happiest response ever in our life. They're helped with the new user experience, especially in dashboard. As a Product Designer, I'm happy that my users are happy with my product.
